Hello

My name is Scott,I have recently moved to Sf for a long list of good reasons, namely to get out of L.A.

I am currently the Advertising Director for Bay Crossings Magazine.
One of my main strategies to grow my circulation is to produce and promote as many events as we can attach to or start.

I do have several events in the planning stage but also want to be the media sponsor to many else.

We are have an Easter Egg Hunt with and several ferry lines at Angel Island.I also am working on a camp day with the Embardero YMCA.

Do you all know of festivals or events along Any of the SF bay waterfronts?

What are you guys up to?

    Hi, I'm Trilo...

While I'm currently in Phoenix, AZ short term, I help produce events in the LA area. I help Space Island with their event logistics, and did both the Virgo Sacrifice and The Apocalypse in LA last fall.

I'm working on a few events in LA at Space Island, from the afterparty for this Saturday's Formal Anime and Alex Grey COSM fundraisers to helping get things together for the Pisces Passion Party on March 12th, to a few other big events that I'll be spearheading in the next couple months.

While I'm out here in Phoenix I've been talking with some of the regional burners out here and am starting to explore the idea of putting together some events out here.

    Hi, I'm Rachel -

    I've produced:

-- staged readings and table readings of my own scripts

-- seminar topics related to theater and film production, pubishing and publicity www.bestfriendsprodutions.com/rachelinfo.htm

-- my own comic book www.bestfriendsproductions.com/hib

    I've also worked in production:

-- as an associate producer, a stage manager, and a house manager for several off-broadway theater (musical and drama) showcases

-- produced video and supervised post-production of video for non-fiction

I think pubicity and promotion is often over-looked by the hyphenate creator-producer which is why I'm such a strong supporter of teaming-up and sharing information.

    MY CURRENT NEED:

I need print advertising for my comic book *series* which will have both a limited print on demand run (200 to 600 imprints per part - distributed through the internet and convention appearences)

--and now I also have national distribution for my mass-market run of 2,000 to 12,000 imprints per part.

--- Each edition and part has a guaranteed minimum print-run
---- print on demand maximum print runs are x2 the minimum
-------- Mass-market edition print runs are x4 the minium.

Because I have inter-national distribution and ISBN numbers for my books I will know how many imprints are in the first printing of each part before I go to press.

The way it works is advertisers pay for the minimum print run up front, and then after the orders come in are billed, if necessary, for the remainder of the first print order. After that the billing is monthly. Advertisers can have their own "declared maximum" that is over the x4 or (x2 for POD) maximum, or I can resolicit with them or others after the maximum for a second print run.

    I'm offing multiple insertion discounts.

The nice thing about comic books is that lots of people look at each issue, and they can be both time sensitive and long-term in their effects.

You may be able to tell that my print runs are smaller than established magazines - - but the value of being associated with something cool (for ages 11 and up) can be priceless.

I'm also open to cross-promotions at events and conventions -- and putting a mini-ad for each advertiser up on my websie with a link to theirs.

Please, spread the word. National products and events are best -- but tourist events in a city are also a good choice -- because people will be getting them all over the US and in English-speaking countries.

Thanks for putting on your thinking caps!

Hi I am the Bonkmaster- or Jordan. I founded a film festival in Wilmington, North Carolina called Cucalorus, you can learn more at www.Cucalorus.org. It was formed eleven years ago by my producing group collective called Twinkle Doon. We developed it to promote film and video in any format to showcase films for arts sake, not as the other festivals do as a competition. This really takes beautiful form as the artists are hailed for the work, and their work stands fro what it is.

Anyway check it out. I have been out here in LA producing short form and working in post production as a Post Supervisor, Editor, on features and as a Production Designer/Art Director in commercials and Music Videos. I have since developed a design business which manufactures products to enhance the bedroom, whether it be for sex or for health issues. Learn more at www.bonkum.com.

I am also interested in the www.nextaid.org project. It is a non-profit for worldwide relief for famine and dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for African children orphaned as a result of AIDS. Please help this incredible organization with evnets adn sponsorships.

I have contacts in the film world accross the country, mostly in New Orleans, Wilmington, NC., and Los Angeles.

I love to promote events so maybe we can work together on some projects.

          Bonkmaster

Hey, Jordon -- One of the places I'm going to be selling and promoting my comic book is going to be the big East Coast convention for the summer --

Heroes Con in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Maybe we could trade an ad in your program for a half-page report or wrap-up of your festival in one of my comics -- sorta like a grayscale ad trade for a web link or something?

I could also put a link up now for your event, since it is coming soon.

I write the generals here to get some of the other shy people out of the woodwork to contact me, too.

Hello, my name is Tom Sepe. I am primariy a performer, however I have organized and coproduced many events, from thanksgiving gathering retreats to cd release parties to film screenings and guerilla performance art shows.

I am a core performer with APSARA and sometimes with Mystic Family Circus and Earth Circus. I do a lot of of organizing and producing as an artist, because partially it is sometimes the only way to make sure the artists and performers have what they need! But primarily I just like to be involved and to make things happen... epsecially around art, music and performance.

I'd like to make connections with other producers and be able to expand my capabilities and experience as a producer. I'd also like to be hired for performing opportunites - stiltdancing, firedance, theater, film, commercials, print. Finally I know over 200 performers in the Bay Area and can help you find talent.

    Tom Sepe
